First and foremost aquire your puppy from a reputable breeder, who understands the breed and has spent alot of time already introducing the puppies to various sights and sounds within the home environment ie hoovers, radios, tvs, children, other animals.
Ensure the parents of your puppy are of sound temperament to. You should always be able to see the mother in her home environment.
The rest is up to YOU, the more you introduce your puppy to at a young age, the easier it will be for it to accept these things and not be scared by them when it comes into contact with them throughout its life.
Obviously untill your puppy is fully vaccinated it cannot be walked around outside of your home, but you can carry it around in your arms and take it to various places.
Nothing stops you getting your puppy used to :
Travelling in the car
Being handled by lots of different people
Hearing various noises: traffic, children, lightning, thunder, etc (you can get cds with all these noises on)
seeing all of these things, taking your puppy into town will get it used to loads of sights and sounds eg pushchairs, wheelchairs, people with hats on, umbrellas etc
wearing a collar, and being walked on lead in your garden
being examined eyes, ears, nose, feet ,tail etc the more you do this the easier it is when your dog has to go to the vets
starting basic obedience commands sit, stay, down etc
